Senior Senior Lacrosse in Ontario recently wrapped up its seventh season with the London Timber Kings finishing unbeaten in 16 games. The 2024 Nobile Cup champions will be seeking their second league title and equal the two-time champion Six Nations Tomahawks (2019, 2023).
Playoffs are scheduled for August 21-23 at Ray Twinney Recreation Complex in Newmarket. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday 1:00 PM.
Although unbeaten this summer, the Timber Kings will have plenty of competition this weekend. Centre Wellington Aces (13-3) feature the top defence in the league giving up just 59 goals, just 3.69 goals per game. Barrie Bearcats (11-5), Toronto Lightning (10-6) and 2025 Nobile Cup winner Georgetown Gators (10-6) will all be in the hunt.
SSL announced their annual league awards prior to the post season. London standout Christian Lefeuvre led league scoring with 26 goals and 19 assists for 45 points. The St. Catharines native played his Junior lacrosse with the hometown Athletics before a two-year stint at Genesee Community College.
Jared Bettonvil of the Guelph Regals was named MVP after leading his squad with 35 points. Bettonvil has played the past three seasons at the University of Guelph.
