The Omaha Kings FC opened their home schedule on Saturday when they played host to the State Line Falcons at Off The Wall Indoor Soccer. After a back-and-forth affair Omaha finished on top defeating the visitors 5-4.

Both teams entered the matchup with one game played in the new Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS). Omaha shut out the Brew City Legends 8-0 on December 10 while the Falcons dropped their opener vs Chicago Mustangs 7-4 that same day.
State Line opened scoring five minutes into the game when Antonio Reyes ripped a left footer past the Omaha keeper on the near post. The lead wouldn’t last long though as Leonides Mejia tied things up three minutes later. The score remained 1-1 until the halftime break.
Stevie Sly gave the Kings the lead early in the third finishing a nice play with Mejia. Manuel Lira then cracked a blazer off a set piece making it 3-1 at 3:59.
A goaltender miscue was quickly converted into a goal by Johnny Leon at the 5:28 mark cutting the Omaha lead to 3-2.
That score held through to the fourth quarter when a deflected shot ended up on the foot of Lira who made no mistake in scoring his second of the game. Two minutes later the Kings made it 5-2 when Say Say found the ball in box just a few feet in front of the goaline.
Jose Rodrigo Cruz had a quick answer for the Falcons though when he smashed a long shot off the crossbar.

A set piece led to a goal by Cesar Gomez at 12:10 cut the Kings lead to one, 5-4, but the Omaha defense held in the final minutes to earn the victory.
Efren Flores (4 GA) was credited with four saves earning the victory for Omaha. Cesar Aceves (15 saves; 5 GA) took the loss.
Next up for the State Line Falcons is a rematch with the Brew City Legends on Saturday. Game time at the State Line Complex is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
