Chevalier, Kouba win Upper Midwest Sprint Series titles

Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series wrapped up their 2022 racing season on September 17 at Cedar Lake Speedway crowning champions of both the winged and traditional sprint car divisions.

The touring series began its 2022 season in April making stops at Eagle Valley Speedway, Ogilvie Raceway, Granite City Motor Park, Thunder Hill Speedway, Chateau Speedway, Jackson Motorplex and Devils Lake Speedway.

Claiming the top spot in the winged division was Mark Chevalier of Blaine, Minnesota.

“Winning the championship is a reflection mostly of the consistent speed we had with our P Won developed engine and shock packages. And I’m particularly proud of the dedication and preparation of our team.”

Jake Kouba finished atop the points in the traditional sprint car division. He did so without recording a victory.

“This was definitely our most consistent season with the UMSS,” commented Kouba. “Even though we never got a win, we made the top five almost every UMSS feature and really improved at Cedar Lake.”
