League playoffs are complete with four teams surviving to earn their bid to the MBA Class A State Tournament. The 16-team field will meet at Palm Field in St. Anthony Village over the next two weekends in a single-elimination tourney.
League champion St. Louis Park, along with Minnetonka Millers and Hopkins Berries, all swept their best-of three series to advance. Park easily handled the Northwest Orioles to earn their 30th appearance at state.
15-time state champion Minnetonka posted a pair of shutouts against Edina, outscoring the Buckshots 40-1 in three games. 2021 will mark the Millers 33rd tournament appearance.
Returning to state for the first time since 2017, the Hopkins Berries have peaked at the best time of the season. Hopkins swept the Plymouth Hitdawgs with a pair of shutouts in the series to book their spot. It is the sixth state tourney appearance for the Berries.
In the four-seed vs five-seed playoff the Bloomington Bandits needed all five games to earn their spot after dropping the first two games to MacStrength Grizzlies. After tying the series in a 15-11 shootout the team teams battled in Game 5 in front of a packed house with the Bandits holding on to win 4-3.
