PrimeTime Players would not be denied last weekend. Facing the Carolina Thunder in the ECBL Southern Conference Final in a red hot gym at Fort Mill Community Center, the PrimeTime offense was clicking from the opening tip on their way to a 160-148 victory.
In the opening frame the PTP shooting was as hot as the gymnasium, taking a 45-32 advantage into the second quarter. That lead quickly grew to 18 as PrimeTime dominated both ends of the court. Chris Moore and James Murray were on fire from beyond the arc helping PrimeTime to a 61-37 lead. The pair combined for 17 three pointers made in the game.
That 24-point advantage was down to 10 by the end of the third quarter 109-99. Much of that run was sparked by the shooting of BJ Tyson and Patrell Rogers who combined to score 80 points in the game.
A basket by Tyson early into the fourth quarter cut the deficit to eight, but it would be as close as the Thunder would come. PrimeTime outscored Carolina 51-49 in the frame to secure their sixth conference title in six tries.
Moore poured in a team-high 37 points while adding 10 rebounds and 11 assists for his fourth triple-double of the season. The veteran guard out of Charleston Southern (2004-08) has put up double figures in scoring (13 of 14 games) and assists (9 of 14) this season.
Murray scored 31 points for PrimeTime while Ricardo Glenn had a huge impact scoring 28 points while pulling down 26 rebounds. Van Turner (20 points), Odell Turner (19 points, eight rebounds), Christopher Wray (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Lysander Bracey (10 points) rounded out scoring for PrimeTime Players.
Leading all scorers in the game was Tyson with 43 to go with 11 rebounds. Rogers added 37 points while James Richardson chipped in 33.
For the PrimeTime Players (14-2) its off to the ECBL South Championship Game this Saturday where they will face the North Carolina Coyotes (8-7).
