Season 7 of the East Coast Basketball League is scheduled to begin this weekend. 27 teams will compete through May with league playoffs to follow.
10 teams are new to the league in 2021. Coastal Elite Pirates and Garden City Magic both join the Southeast Division while the North Carolina Capitals will compete as part of the Northwest Division.
Seven new teams have joined ECBL to form the new Mid-Atlantic Conference. Fredericksburg Grizzlies, Hub City Hogs, Philly Cannons, Philly Raiders, Plaistow Shockers, Red Rose Thunder and Western Mass Zombies will compete as the league expands its footprint north.
Two games are on the opening weekend schedule. Gastonia Snipers hosting the South Carolina Upstate Redhawks Saturday in a Southwest Division matchup. Tip off is scheduled for 4:00 PM. On Sunday the Carolina Chosen Lions will face the Rowan County Bulls in Winterville, North Carolina. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
