South Carolina State alum Karon Wright joins Coastal Elite Pirates

Coastal Elite Pirates have added Karon Wright to the roster for the 2021 ECBL season. A 2013 graduate of Silver Bluff (Aiken) High School, Wright played at South Carolina State University for three seasons.

Beginning his collegiate career at SCSU, Wright transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University for his Junior season. After transferring back to SCSU for his final year Wright set a school record for three pointers made in a season with 93 averaging 12.6 points per game in 2017-18.

Wright began his professional career in Mexico for Campesinos de Rio Grande. In 21 games he lead the Liga Municipal de Basquetbol Rio Grande in scoring with 41 points per game. K.Wright also played in Argentina with Atlético Argentino (2019) and Mexico at Plateados de Fresnillo (LNBP) averaging 32.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 21 games.

Coastal Elite Pirates coach Jason Wallace commented on the signing saying, “We are excited to be adding Wright to our roster for the 2021 season. K.Wright is a threat anywhere on the court.”
