Jason Smith new Peguis bench boss

Peguis Juniors are thrilled to announce the appointment of Jason Smith as new head coach. Smith joins the existing staff (Michael Spence and Marty Favel) who will remain as assistant coaches.

A native of The Pas, Smith should be a well recognized name in northern Manitoba. He guided the OCN Blizzard from November 2014 through the 2015-16 Manitoba Junior Hockey League season. Smith helped turn a last place Blizzard team to a sixth place finish that season.

Smith takes over head coaching duties from Spence who has guided the Juniors through much of their recent success. With a 16-year old son, Mike Spence, active in hockey the eldest will take a small step back in duties as an assistant.

Peguis Juniors are hosting tryouts October 24-25 at the Peguis Multiplex. Players may contact General Manager Ryan McCorrister for more information.

The 2020-21 Keystone Junior Hockey League regular season is scheduled to begin November 7.
