Spence posted 121 points in 25 games for Peguis Juniors, including 74 goals. He is just the third KJHL player to surpass the 100-point mark in the last 10 seasons. Tony Apetagon (102) hit triple digits in 2015-16 and Devon Tobacco (107) in 2016-17.
Making his debut on January 16, 2016 as an a affiliate player, Spence netted a hat trick and assist for Peguis. It would be a sign of what was to come playing 108 regular season games over the next four seasons scoring 158 goals and 289 points.
Peguis GM Ryan McCorrister praised Spence for his work ethic and leadership saying, “he found great chemistry with Quinton Flett and Ethan Daniels on his line and it shows. All three guys finished 1, 2, 3 in scoring on the team.”
Spence helped Peguis to three straight league championships (2017-19) adding another 48 points in 38 playoff games. In two Keystone Cup appearances Spence would score seven goals and two assists for a career total of 346 points.
When Spence hit the 100-point mark during the season his coaches and team were congratulating him on the mark. Spence simply replied, “thanks to my linemates.”
