ECBL Power Rankings #1

Four weeks into the regular season has provided plenty of individual highlights in the East Coast Basketball League. The 19-team circuit is also seeing teams rise to the top of their respected division. We attempt to sort them out with our first power rankings of the season – the ECBL Elite Eight!

ECBL Elite Eight Power Rankings (March 8, 2020)

  1. PrimeTime Players (3-0) – until someone takes down the only champion the league has ever known PTP remains supreme.
  2. Hickory Hoyas (4-0) – defeated Gastonia by 12 this weekend after impressive wins against NC Coyotes and Rowan County Bulls.
  3. Hampton Roads Warriors (4-0) – won a tight one against Fayetteville to remain unbeaten. Two road wins prior.
  4. Carolina Thunder (2-0) – after a season opening with over the Crusaders the team had a bye week. Came back with 58-point pounding of Charlotte.
  5. Rowan County Bulls (2-1) – early season surprise? After a Week 2 loss to Hickory the Bulls pulled off an impressive win at 2019 league runner-up Winston-Salem Wolves.
  6. Augusta Eagles (3-1) – good start of the season for Augusta who have a mighty schedule ahead.
  7. Georgia Fire (1-0) – made their ECBL debut a successful one defeating the Crusaders 118-81. Showdown with Rowan County next weekend.
  8. Petersburg Cavaliers (1-0) – opened their season by easily handling newcomer High Point. Cavs will take on the Coyotes next.
