RiverWolves hope 2020 their year in ALL

Jamie Dubrick is the only head coach in Paris RiverWolves history. Since the birth of the Arena Lacrosse League in 2017 he’s seen players grow and develop, with many moving on to the National Lacrosse League. Coming into 2020 the RiverWolves all-time regular season record was 19-23. Those numbers are reversed when it comes to playoff time though with the team advancing to the ALL Cup Final the past two seasons only to fall short of the big prize.

The team is off to its best start ever currently at 4-1 after five weeks of action. Their latest win over Toronto Monarchs was a good example of the strength of the team – a balanced scoring attack. Ten different players registered a point in the 11-7 win.

“Our scoring has been spread out which is great as we don’t have to rely just on one or two players,” said Dubrick. “Our defence has been real good and we always focus on our transition game. The team has really bought into our overall game plan.”

As a developmental league, roster changes are a constant in the ALL. This was a big task for Dubrick and the RiverWolves this offseason.

“We have nine new faces on the roster this season. With the loss of six players to the NLL we really had to work on the depth of our roster.”

Cole Spear (9 goals, 9 assists) and Dan Keane (6 goals, 12 assists) lead the team in scoring with Eddie Renauld (5 goals, 12 assists) also contributing regularly. They are among 15 players with at least two points so far this season.

Goaltending has been another strength commented Dubrick, “Nolan Clayton has been good along with both of our NLL practice roster goalies Steve Orleman and Cameron Dunkerly have all picked up wins for us.”

With the balanced roster, depth and solid goaltending the RiverWolves hope to win that one final game of season – and the ALL Cup.
