Women’s Arena Lacrosse League to open third season

Season three of the Women’s Arena Lacrosse League is scheduled to begin this weekend with all team competing at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena on Saturday. Games begin at 1:00 PM.

The Arena Lacrosse League – a development league affiliated with the National Lacrosse League – added a women’s division in 2018 with three teams (RiverWolves, Shockwave and Snipers) competing in the first season. Lady Steelhawks were added for the 2019 season and a fifth (Lady Outlaws) will compete this season.

Lady RiverWolves are the defending champion after defeating Shockwave in the ALL Cup Final last April. Both teams went 12-4 in the regular season.

Lady Snipers, who were the first-ever champion in 2018, finished 4-8 before falling in the 2019 semifinal. Expansion side Steelhawks did not win a game in their debut season.
