Second year team Fayetteville Panthers are on the move! The team is now calling the Town of Hope Mills Recreation Center its home for the 2020 East Coast Basketball League season.
The Panthers made their ECBL debut in 2019, posting a 6-7 regular season record before being eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs. Leading the Panthers attack most of the season was Daniel Green (6’10”-C), who played collegiately at NCAA Division II Newman University in 2016-17. The 6’10 Green averaged 19.8 points and 11.4 rebounds in 10 games played.
“The Fayetteville Panthers have came along way in a short time,” said Panthers owner China Bethea. “This season we will be in a new gymnasium, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and a presence in the community that have now reached schools in the Cumberland County School District.”
Fayetteville open the 2020 campaign at home on February 16 when the Panthers welcome newcomer High Point Lycans to the ECBL.
“With the new additions of committed and dedicated players we have developed a more positive attitude and talent that brings a more competitive and fun energy to the team and the East Coast Basketball League. We look forward to a wonderful season and Jr. NBA Youth Basketball Clinic that will be filled with giving back and serving others, especially the youth in our community!”
