Two of the top teams in central Canada will meet this January 11-12 when the seven-time Keystone Junior Hockey League champion Peguis Juniors take on the Thunder Bay Fighting Walleye of the Lakehead Junior Hockey League. Both games will take place in the Fort Frances, Ontario area.
Peguis and the Fighting Walleye have met three times over the past two Keystone Cup tournaments with the Thunder Bay crew winning 6-0 in the 2019 round robin. In 2018 the Walleye also won the round robin matchup (7-2) before Peguis won their semifinal game 6-3.
Game one is scheduled for 7:00 PM on January 11 at Couchiching First Nation Arena. Proceeds from the game will go to the Fort Frances Canadians Peewee team who are selling tickets for the event.
The teams will make the short trek west the following day for game two at Emo-LaVallee Community Centre. Game time set for noon. This game will benefit the Emo Devlin Barwick Minor Hockey Association.
