Storm earn road trip sweep at Peguis

A weekend road trip at Peguis proved to be a successful one as OCN Storm (10-2-0) took four points from the defending champs. OCN now sit with 20 points and atop the KJHL standings.

Tyrome Spence got things started on Saturday night scoring early. Peguis would respond with a pair of goals, but the Storm answered before intermission with goals from Noah Butler and Logan MacDonald.

The teams exchanged goals over the next 30 minutes with a powerplay goal by Ethan Daniels gave Peguis a 5-4 advantage with 8:36 left in regulation. The Storm would not give up though finding the tying goal in the final minute – scored by Dion Fontaine.

OCN took that momentum into overtime with Chavez Constant scoring the game winner at 1:48. Shot totals ended at 44-37 Storm advantage.

 

The Sunday afternoon finale ended up to be a wild one with the Storm coming on top 10-7. Fontaine, Butler and MacDonald each netted a hat trick helping the visitors wrap up a two-game sweep.

Braxton Constant played both games in net for the Storm making 79 saves, 46 in the Sunday matchup.

Next up for the Storm is a two-game set with second place NCN Flames (5-1-1). The teams have played two games this season splitting a series up north.
