ILA to host Legends Cup championship

It’s championship time in Canada. Box lacrosse leagues around the country are wrapping up with league playoffs and national tournaments. Senior Series Lacrosse (SSL) is no different and has their league championship scheduled for this weekend at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

The first-year Senior C loop in Ontario saw five teams battle throughout the summer playing a 14-game schedule – which will wrap up on Saturday. The top four teams will be seeded and compete on Sunday in a single-elimination championship to crown the first-ever Senior Series Lacrosse Legends Cup champion.

Weekend host Six Nations Tomahawks (11-0-1) have clinched the top seed. They will meet the four seed Lakefield Rage (3-9-0) in one semifinal Sunday morning. Huntsville Senior Hawks (6-5-1) and Peel Region Tigers (5-7-0) will meet in the other semifinal with only the seeding to be decided.
