Blizzard select 8 in NAHL Draft

Draft day for the St. Cloud Blizzard is complete. A day after announcing the team would be relocating from Brookings, it’s home since the 2012-13 season, the team made eight selections in the North American Hockey League Draft.

Round 1 (pick 3) – Austen Humphrey, Elk River High School

27 GP: 18 goals, 21 assists

Round 2 (pick 29) – Ryan O’Neill, St. Thomas Academy

30 GP: 21 goals, 31 assists

Round 2 (pick 47) – Britt League, Winkler Flyers (MJHL)

18 GP: 3.37 GAA, .899 save%

Round 3 (pick 60) – Ian Pierce, Kent School

26 GP: 3 goals, 16 assists

Round 3 (pick 63) – Brendan Blair, Soo Eagles (NOJHL)

58 GP: 18 goals, 32 assists

Round 4 (pick 81) – Tommi Eriksson, South Florida Hockey Academy

54 GP: 44 goals, 45 assists

Round 5 (pick 112) – Connor Couet, St. Michael-Albertville High School

26 GP: 4 goals, 21 assists

Round 7 (pick 159) – Ville Hyttinen, Alexandria Blizzard (NA3HL)

17 GP: 3.02 GAA, .901 save%
