The undefeated Chicago Fury (5-0) and Chicago Knights (5-0) have both had a terrific start to the MBL season. Unbeaten after five games, people in the basketball world have taken notice. Among the players of both rosters, two are drawing interest from professional teams.
Dabriawn Johnson (Knights) and DeVante Jones (Fury) will have an opportunity this week to show scouts from the NBA G League what they can do. Workouts are scheduled for Friday with at least six different teams attending.
Johnson began his collegiate career with Kankakee Community College before finishing at New Mexico Highlands, an NCAA Division II program.
A local product of Orr Academy, Jones played two seasons of junior college before ending up at Division I Middle Tennessee State and coach Kermit Davis. DJ played 27 games in the 2014-15 season and was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament team.
