Just four weeks ago the Maritime Hockey League announced that the Woodstock Slammers franchise was sold and the team would be relocated to Grand Falls, New Brunswick. On June 6 the team had a new name giving birth to the Grand Falls Rapids.

The next step for Team President Marcel Deschenes and General Manager Danny Braun was the MHL Draft held during the league AGM June 9. The team made eight selections in the draft including forward Yannick Bastarache in the first round.
