Grand Falls Rapids first MHL Draft complete

Just four weeks ago the Maritime Hockey League announced that the Woodstock Slammers franchise was sold and the team would be relocated to Grand Falls, New Brunswick. On June 6 the team had a new name giving birth to the Grand Falls Rapids.

 

The next step for Team President Marcel Deschenes and General Manager Danny Braun was the MHL Draft held during the league AGM June 9. The team made eight selections in the draft including forward Yannick Bastarache in the first round.

Grand Falls Rapids MHL Draft results

1 (5th overall): Yannick Bastarache, F, Moncton Flyers

2 (14th): Antony Matti, F, Fredericton Caps

Territorial 1 (3rd): Thomas Bonefant, G, Polyvalente Thomas-Albert HS

3 (26th): Phillipe Cassault, D, Cole Harbour Wolfpack

Territorial 2 (15th): Noah Adams, D, Newbridge Academy

4 (38th): Adam Fowlow, F, Dartmouth Steele Subaru

4 (41st): Nolan Boyd, G, Dartmouth Steele Subaru

7  (74th): Isaac Dixon, D, Saint John Vitos

8 (86th): Ryan Penney, F, Fredericton Caps

The Rapids will call E & P Senechal Center home beginning this fall. More information will be made available soon.
