Brett Armstrong and Jacob May each scored twice in the Friday night affair leading the Miners to a 7-3 romp. The next night Pikes Peak posted a 3-0 shutout behind goaltender Joseph Chekan, who stopped all 26 shots against.

In Lakewood the host T-birds had a big opening night offensively to win 8-6. A hat trick by Eric Wilson led the way while Levi Clemenson put up a seven-point night scoring a pair. Trevor Haertl also netted two goals and a pair of helpers.
Goaltender Scout Stalcup stopped all 40 shots the next night to earn the shutout as the Thunderbirds (6-13-1-0) won 4-0. Stalcup made 39 saves in the series finale the next afternoon, but it was the shorthanded Rampage who would skate away with the 5-4 victory.
