Hurricanes acquire local Mooney

Guelph Hurricanes GM Steve Marshall announced today the acquisition of 19-year old forward Seamus Mooney. A native of Guelph, Mooney was playing with the Wellesley Applejacks this fall.

Mooney started his minor hockey career with in Guelph before playing AAA with the Cambridge Hawks in 2014-15. He began the 2016-17 season with the Applejacks before being signed by the Milton Icehawks (OJHL) where he played 19 games.

This season the 6’2 winger returned to the Applejacks scoring two goals and two assists in nine games played.

The Hurricanes are back in GOJHL action this Friday traveling to Stratford. On Saturday night the team returns to Sleeman Centre hosting the first place Listowel Cyclones.
