After three weeks of play in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League parity seems to be the theme with all five teams having at least three points. Last weekend the defending champion Pikes Peak Miners (5-2-0-0) took a pair of games from the Breckenridge Bolts while Steamboat Wranglers (5-4-0-0) and Colorado Rampage (3-2-1-0) split their two-game series.
Pikes Peak sweep Breckenridge
It was the home debut for the Bolts (1-2-0-2) who have been competitive from the start. The scoring duo of Luke Marsh and Kody Goodwin continued their strong beginning of the season with two points each on opening night. A late third period goal by Goodwin would force overtime where Brett Hawkins scored the game winner and completed his hat trick. Ian Zaleski scored the other two goals for the first place Miners.
Zaleski would score another pair the next night helping Pikes Peak to a 5-2 victory and the weekend sweep. Goaltender Jimmy Grosklaus made 43 saves earning the win,
Rampage, Wranglers split
The Friday opener in Steamboat Springs saw a ‘rampage’ of goals early and often. Despite just 17 shots on net the Colorado Rampage scored five goals in the opening period on their way to an 8-4 thrashing.
Jack Rousseau (three goals, assist) and Christian Perry (two goals, three assists) provided much of the offense while Noah Vanderbeck made 44 saves to earn the win in between the pipes.

In the second matchup shot totals (54-26) were similar, but the final score was a complete reversal as Steamboat would win 11-1. A hat trick from Andrew DeMorat and a pair by Andrew DeMorat led the offense in which 12 different Wranglers players would register a point in the game.
