Just two games were played in Week 1 of the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League, but there were plenty of standout individual performances. Steamboat Wranglers defeated both Colorado Rampage and Pikes Peak Miners to begin their campaign with two home victories.
The Week 1 top performer is goaltender Cole Kohut of the Steamboat Wranglers. The 17-year old made his debut an impressive one with a .936 save% in two games.
“Cole was really good this weekend but it was a team effort,” commented Wranglers head coach Joakim Falt. “He saved us in a couple of difficult situations but it was still a team effort. He’s a great leader for the team and he played well and we love to have him.”
