USASA Region II to host cup events in Michigan

While no longer considered “national” cup competitions the Werner Fricker Cup (Open) and Gerhard Mengel Cup (Over-30) continue on as US Adult Soccer Association regional hosted events. This year USASA Region II will host both events on August 18-19 at the Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, Michigan.

Michigan Sporting SC are the host club while Quinto Elemento FC of the KCK League will also represent Region II. Motagua New Orleans (Region III) and Lansdowne Bhoys FC (Region I), who recently captured the USASA Amateur Cup national title, are the other participants.

Two clubs from the Premier Soccer League in Chicago are entered in the Gerhard Mengel Cup: Tornio FC O-30 and Levski Chicago 2014. They are joined by Christos FC and Charlotte Sporting SA.

Werner Fricker Cup

• Michigan Sporting SC vs Lansdowne Bhoys, 7 PM
• Quinto Elemento FC vs Motagua New Orleans, 9 PM

Gerhard Mengel Cup

• Torino FC O-30 vs Christos FC, 7 PM
• Levski Chicago 2014 vs Charlotte Sporting
