Chatham product Austin Bentley commits to the Maroons

Austin Bentley has come home. After playing four previous seasons outside Chatham, the 20-year old has committed to play his final Junior season with the Chatham Maroons of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

A graduate of Chatham-Kent Secondary School, Bentley played hockey with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones AAA after minor hockey with the Kent Cobras program. He began his Junior career with the Blenheim Blades in 2013. After two seasons of Junior C experience the 6’1″ forward played with the Waterloo Siskins in 2015-16 season scoring 17 goals, 17 assists while compiling 119 PIM in 65 games.

Traded in the offseason Bentley joined the Sarnia Legionnaires in 2016 playing 10 games. He rejoined the Dresden Kings then Blenheim playing a total of 37 games in the PJHL scoring 16 goals while adding 23 assists.
