Glengarry Highlanders are on the move. One of the original eight CPJHL teams, the team announced its move to Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre and will now be known as the Smiths Falls Settlers.
Owned and operated by Frank and Michelle Morris, the team found success in their inaugural season going 23-19-1-5. Their roster included some of the bright young stars of the league including 17-year olds Felix Stephen and Maverick Baxtrom as well as Tyson Iserhoff, who just turned 19.
GM and Head Coach Frank Morris is thrilled about the move saying, “Everyone at the Settlers organization are very excited about the new season. We are all looking forward to representing the community of Smiths Falls which is a real hockey town.”
Morris is joined behind the bench by Barry DeGray, who is a skating instructor at Power Edge Pro.
The team recently held their first tryout in Smiths Falls, but are still seeking talent for the new season. “We have been extremely busy in the off season preparing for the upcoming season in continuing to build a reputable program,” added Morris.
