Eight teams began their playoff journey last week and four have moved on. All four top seeded teams won their two-game total goal series to earn a place in the CPJHL Super 4, a round robin to determine the two championship game finalist.
First to advance were the Essa Stallions who eliminated O-town Rebels. Essa is the third seed.
Four seed Grey Highlands Hawks advanced, but not without a fight from Glengarry Highlanders. The Hawks won Game 1 on home ice 9-3. The second game was played at Maxville Arena and despite the six-goal deficit Glengarry came to win. Glengarry would win the game 6-4, but lose the series 13-9.
Top overall seed Muskoka Wild had no problem reaching the next round with a dominant series win over Seaforth Generals. After an 8-0 win at home the Wild would have to battle to a 6-5 win on the road and a 14-5 series victory.
Second seeded Almonte Sharpshooters found themselves in a competition winning the opening game against Norwood Nemesis 3-1. They would leave no doubt in the second matchup winning 9-1 (12-2 overall).
The remaining four now move on the the round robin where the top two teams will advance to the championship. Muskoka and Almonte will host two of their three games as the highest seeded teams.
A championship schedule will be released as soon as available. Stay tuned!
