The final week of the regular season in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League is here and playoff positions are still up-for-grabs. The only spot sealed is the top seed with Pikes Peak Miners (30-8-0-0) wrapping up the title last week.
The Miners will look to regain some momentum headed into the final weekend of play after losing their past three games. They will travel to Monument for a pair of games against the Colorado Rampage.
Those same Rampage (7-26-0-4) are in a fight for the final spot in the playoffs with the Colorado Thunderbirds (8-27-0-2). The two teams split their season series although one of those games was in overtime (extra point for the Rampage).
The Thunderbirds will be at Lewis Arena facing the red-hot Aspen Leafs, who went undefeated in the month of February. Winners of nine-straight games Aspen (24-10-0-4) will need two more to clinch the second seed for the playoffs trailing the Steamboat Wranglers (26-10-0-4), who wrapped their regular season last week. The Leafs hold the tie breaker by winning seven of the 12 head-to-head matchups
