CPJHL is pleased to announce that Andy Williamson of the Almonte Sharpshooters has been signed by the Casper Coyotes (Western Junior Hockey League). The 18-year old forward will join the Tier II club who currently sit in third place of the WSHL Mountain Division.
A native of Kanata, Ontario Williamson leads all Sharpshooters scorers with 35 points in 31 games. His last game played was on January 15 when he scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-3 victory over Norwood Nemesis.
Williamson was recently part of the CPJHL All Stars who took part in the WSHL Western States Shootout. The group, who had never played together, finished with a 1-1-2 record in the Las Vegas showcase.
Head coach Angelo Gallo had this to say about the news; “We thank Coach John [Ambrefe] and the Casper Coyotes for giving Andy the opportunity. We wish Andy and the Coyotes all the best in the WSHL.”
Almonte (27-5-1-1) currently lead the CPJHL East Division with the best record in the eight-team league. The Sharpshooters return to the ice tonight looking to extend a seven-game win streak.
