Opening weekend of the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League featured just two games, but plenty of goals. Defending league champion Grunthal Jr. Red Wings won their home opener in a wild affair 9-7 over the Mitchell Mohawks. Several players recorded multi-point games, but none like Bailey Fehr – scoring six goals while adding an assist. For his efforts Fehr is the Week 1 HTJHL Player of the Week.
A native of Niverville, Fehr is playing his first year of Juniors after playing 40 games with the Eastman Selects in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League last season. The 17-year old winger scored early and often in the game against Mitchell notching his hat trick at the 3:07 mark of the second period. Fehr would score twice more in the period and added an empty net goal to finish his seven point night.
