IBA Week 3 Player of the Week

Two games were played in Week 3 of the Independent Basketball Association (IBA) regular season with the Kenosha Ballers (129-105 vs International Racers) and St. Louis Trotters (118-114 vs Kankakee County Soldiers) victorious. Several individual performances were on display, but one stood out to earn the IBA Player of the Week.

Marlowe Currie of the St. Louis Trotters (2-0) helped his team defeat the 5-time IBA Champion Soldiers, scoring 30 points (shooting 11 of 20 from the field) while adding nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.

A 6’8″ wingman who played his college ball at NCAA Division II Southern Indiana University (2000-02), Currie is 39th on the all-time scorers list for the Golden Eagles.

The Independent Basketball Association was established in 2011 with teams based in the Midwest. The league has expanded to 18 teams while holding two separate seasons per calendar year. A spring season (March-June) is followed by a traditional winter season (September-January) with teams competing in one and/or both competitions each year.
