U.S. Open Cup 5th Round Fixtures

The fourth round of this 2014 U.S. Open Cup provided plenty of drama and upsets. NASL clubs Atlanta Silverbacks, Carolina RailHawks and New York Cosmos all knocked out their MLS opponent while Rochester Rhinos (USL PRO) sent the defending cup winners D.C. United home early this year.

Perhaps the most anticipated match of the round happened to be a New York Derby between the host NY Cosmos and NY Red Bulls. The eastside Cosmos stole the show though, dominating the Red Bulls 3-0. Shots were 21-3 in favor of the Cosmos, who won in front of an announced home crowd of 9,364 at Shuart Stadium.

The final three amateur clubs (Laredo Heat, Orlando City U23, PSA Elite) were all eliminated in the 4th Round as well, but Laredo will take home the $15,000 prize money as they defeated a team (Fort Lauderdale Strikers) two division above the PDL.
