Minnesota Soccer News is proud to present the Minnesota Amateur Soccer League (MASL) Game of the Week, a weekly showcase of a top-tier football league in the state. This week we feature SPAM FC vs Rock City FC.

MASL was founded in 1953 and is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), an affiliate of U.S. Soccer. There are four divisions of MASL, which uses the promotion-relegation system. MASL Division 1 would be considered a fifth-tier league in the U.S. Soccer pyramid behind MLS, NASL, USL PRO and NPSL & PDL.
Our first showcase game will highlight a Division 3 matchup between SPAM FC (6-0-0) and Rock City FC (3-0-4). The match is scheduled for 6:30 PM at St. Louis Park Stadium.
About SPAM FC: the club was originally formed in 1989 as a youth travel team by several friends in St. Louis Park. SPAM FC entered MASL in 2012 and quickly earned promotion from Division 4 after a 17-0-1 record. Last summer the club finished with a record of 9-6-3, which was fourth in the final Division 3 table. After playing six of 18 matches SPAM FC currently are on top of the table in their quest for promotion to Division 2.
About Rock City FC: established in 2001, Rock City FC call Pinecone Central Park in Sartell home. The club has two teams competing in MASL, Rock City FC (Division 3) and Rock City FC II (Division 4).
