On November 2, 2013 Century College defeated Joliet Junior College 1-0 to win District C and advance to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament for the first time in program history. Ryan Flynn was the hero scoring the game winner in the 90th minute for the Wood Ducks, who captured their first District Championship. Goalkeeper Christian Espitia made eight saves for the clean sheet, his ninth of the season.
Century College will open play at the national tournament, hosted by Herkimer County Community College, on Thursday, November 14. Their opponent is Montgomery College (21-1). The Raptors were the Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference champion and seeded #2 for nationals.
The official 6-12-1 overall record for Century College is a bit misleading due to the fact that the team had to forfeit their first 10 games of the season (won 9 of the 10 games). On the pitch, Century went 15-3-1*, including 5-0-1 in their last six games.
