It is Matchday 1 for the Bundesliga in Germany and Ligue 1 in France this weekend! It is the 51st season for the Bundesliga. Ligue 1 enters their 76th season.

Action begins on Friday with defending champions FC Bayern Munich faces Borussia Mönchengladbach at Allianz Arena. The match marks the German league debut of Bayern Coach Pep Guardiola, who had previous success with FC Barcelona.

2012-13 French champion Paris Saint-Germain kick-off the Ligue 1 campaign on Friday as they travel to face 2011-12 champion Montpellier Hérault SC. This match will be broadcast live on beIN Sport at 1:00 PM (CT). PSG won their 3rd Ligue 1 title last season, but face many changes this season. Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimović returns to PSG after scoring 34 goals in 46 matches last season. A challenger to both the Ligue 1 title and Golden Boot award may come in newly-promoted AS Monaco FC and Columbian Radamel Falcao. Monaco won Ligue 2 in 2012-13 with a record of 20-13-4. Several additions were made in preparation for their Ligue 1 campaign, including Falcao, Eric Abidal (FC Barcelona), Ricardo Carvalho (Real Madrid), João Moutinho and James Rodríguez (FC Porto) . Falcao, who scored 34 goals in 40 matches last season for Atlético Madrid, will be counted on for much of the offense at Monaco.
