With the NPSL Championship being played Sunday night in Richmond, we take a look back at Midwest Central season.
Following a third place finish in 2012, Quad City Eagles FC claimed the Central title this year with a record of 9-1-2. In just three years, Quad City and Coach Scott Mejia (Augustana College Head Coach) has established itself as a top U-23 program in the upper midwest.
Eastern Wisconsin rivals Milwaukee Bavarian SC and Madison 56ers SC (6-3-3) battled all season long with Milwaukee finishing second in the division standings at 8-1-3. The clubs played three times this season, each winning once and a 1-1 draw.
Minnesota TwinStars FC (2-1-9) and Eau Claire Aris FC (1-2-9) both struggled with consistency and stopping the top three clubs from scoring. Minnesota gave up a Midwest-high 42 goals in 12 games while Eau Claire gave up 40 goals. If either side hope to move up the Central table this will have to be an area to address.
