Thunder Bay Chill Win PDL Central

For a fourth time in their 14-year history, the Thunder Bay Chill are the USL PDL Central Conference champions. Thunder Bay defeated defending PDL Champion FC London 3-0 on July 28 to clinch their spot in the PDL Final Four.

Finishing as the top team in the PDL regular season, Thunder Bay played host to the Central Conference playoffs.  The Chill eliminated the Michigan Bucks in the semifinals, winning 1-0. That set up a match against the defending champion, who they defeated 3-0 behind goals from Campano Franco, Paul Dillon (a senior this fall at Marquette University) and Sunny Omoregie.

Thunder Bay was the 2008 PDL National Champion. The Chill have won six of the past seven PDL Heartland Division titles.

The PDL National Finals will be played next weekend in Austin, Texas.
