Paris RiverWolves took the floor at Children’s Arena on Saturday riding a three-game win streak when they faced the Oshawa Outlaws in Arena Lacrosse League play. After a back-and-forth affair the visitors needed a late surge to overcome the Outlaws to win 17-16.
Evenly played throughout, the RiverWolves found themselves leading 4-2 after one quarter. Kaymen Diabo scored a pair in the opening frame on his way to a six-goal effort to lead all goal scorers.
Tied at 7-7 at the halftime break, Oshawa took a 12-10 advantage early in the fourth with Luke Laszkiewicz scoring four of the five Outlaws goals during the stretch. Goals by Matt Duncan, Diabo and Noah Simonelli gave Paris a 13-12 lead before a pair by the home side had them trailing once again.
With 3:45 remaining in regulation the RiverWolves found themselves down 16-14. Duncan quickly got his squad within his hat trick goal. Simonelli netted his hat trick to even the score with just :35 left before Diabo scored the game winner just :16 later.
Duncan (three goals, six assists) led all scorers with nine points. Diabo added a pair of helpers to finish with eight points. Simonelli (three goals, two assists), Nick Ellerton (two goals, two assists) and Kurtis Woodland (goal, three assists) each chipped in with four points.
Paris RiverWolves will look to extend their four-game win streak when they return to their home at ILA on Sunday when they host the Toronto Monarchs.
