15-year old Max Reaves won his first national ARCA race on Saturday night in front of a large crowd at Elko Speedway. The teenager from Trinity, North Carolina races for Joe Gibbs Racing in the 18-car, the same team which won the race last year with William Sawalich behind the wheel.
13 ARCA rookie drivers were among the 24 cars in the field of the Shore Lunch 250. Some of the lower budget teams, including Alex Clubb, expressed their frustration after the race.
Local divisions competed before the ARCA race.
