Veteran coach Don Babineau returns to Hudson

Junior hockey veteran coach Don Babineau is back behind the bench in Hudson, Wisconsin after recently being named head coach/GM of the Hudson Havoc. The team has been preparing for their USPHL season opener scheduled for Saturday.

This is the second stint in Hudson for Babineau who guided the Hudson Crusaders of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League from 2007 until 2012. More recently the New Hope, Minnesota native has coached the Isanti Outlaws (2022-23) before assisting the Minnesota Moose last season.

“I’m excited to return to Hudson,” commented Babineau. “It’s a great hockey community and the Havoc have a solid history here.”

Hudson Havoc open the 2024-25 regular season this Saturday night in Spooner, Wisconsin against the Northwest Express. The game will mark a sort of homecoming for Babineau who began his Junior coaching career in Spooner as head coach of the Northwest Wisconsin Knights in 2001.
