Palm Beach Hawks are pleased to announce the addition of Trevor Jewell to the coaching staff. Jewell will lead the Hawks Premier squad while assisting Don Babineau with the Elite team.
Jewell joins the Palm Beach staff after two successful seasons with the Charlotte Rush organization. There he guided the Rush Elite team to a two-consecutive USPHL national championship games, capturing the title in 2017. He helped repeat the feat behind the Rush Premier bench last season falling just short in the championship game.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Hawks organization and bringing my brand of hockey to the team,” said Jewell. “I am extremely grateful to Ryan Cruthers and the ownership group of the Charlotte Rush and wish them nothing but the best in the future.”
As a player Jewell played his Junior hockey with the Peoria Mustangs (2007-09) before a four-year collegiate career at Johnson and Wales University. He then spent parts of the next two seasons playing minor professional hockey before beginning his coaching career.
Babineau was thrilled with the hire saying, “”We are excited to have Trevor a part of our organization. He brings a ton to the table. His success in Charlotte was very appealing in many ways, but what intrigues me about Coach Jewell is leadership and his drive to make this program a huge success. He cares about his players development. He’s the right guy and no doubt he will do a great job.”
Jewell added his excitement on the move; “I can’t wait to get down to south Florida and get to work with a great group of players. I want to thank Don for giving me the opportunity and believing in my ideas to help take the program to the next level.”
