Arkansas Finest were an underdog coming into The Basketball Tournament, a $2 million prize winner-take-all. Seeded #13 in the South Regional, the group from Arkansas faced a first round opponent in the #4 seed TeamBDB.
Just five players made the trip to Charlotte, but despite the lack of a bench Arkansas Finest held their own and lead the game much of the first half. Halftime score was 30-24.
It took some hot second half shooting by Team BDB (63.3%) and big performances from former Kansas Jayhawk Josh Selby (21 points) to avoid the upset and advance by the score of 77-65.
