Steinbach Huskies Ben Plett is this week’s Hanover Tachi Junior Hockey League Player of the Week. Plett scored four goals and added two assists to help the Jr. Huskies to a pair of victories over the weekend. Securing four points in the standings has Steinbach (5-3-0-1) currently sitting in third place behind Grunthal Red Wings (7-4-0-0) and Red River Mudbugs (6-3-1-0).

18-year old Plett is playing his second season of Junior hockey with the Huskies. He scored his first hat trick with Steinbach on Sunday as Steinbach clobbered the league-leading Red Wings 12-0. With eight goals and three assists, Plett is currently second in team scoring leaders. He’s pleased with the team play so far this season.

Everybody in the room has been digging a little deeper and finding a way to elevate their game and as a result it feels like we are getting better and better with every period. It’s a very tight league; you need to come ready to play every night or you’ll leave on the losing end.
