The 2012 NPSL season began for the four other Midwest – Central clubs last weekend, but today will mark the season opener for the Minnesota TwinStars FC! The team will face Quad City Eagles (0-1), who suffered a 1-0 loss to Madison 56ers SC on May 19.
The TwinStars are coming into 2012 after a solid 6-5-1 (fourth place in the NPSL Midwest) campaign last season. The club is led by Head Coach Yousseff Darbaki.
Quad City entered 2011 as an expansion club and finished with a record of 6-1-5, which earned them second place in the Midwest. They are coached by Augustana College women’s head coach Scott Meija. He has a career record of 72-20-8 as head coach at Augustana.
